Natural Channel Design

In July 2023, Caitlin Stewart from the Hamilton County Conservation District gave an informative presentation on natural channel restoration in Elbow Creek, a waterway that flows into Lake Algonquin. The stream bank restoration helps to restore natural flow paths and prevent erosion. 2022 Final Report on Milfoil Removal

Aquatic Vegetation of Lake Algonquin


In September 2021, researchers from the Darrin Fresh Water Institute conducted an aquatic plant survey of the lake to assess the presence of native and invasive plant species. You can read the results by downloading their report at the link below.
